  • No account
  • Nothing leaves your browser
  • Splits resolved
The exporter panel, running beside your EveryDollar budget.

Free, no account

Install it and export. There is no sign-up and no paywall on the tool.

Runs in your browser

It reads the EveryDollar pages you are already signed into. Nothing is sent to a server of ours.

Ready to import

The CSVs drop straight into CalmDollar with the built-in EveryDollar preset.

01 Why we made it

A budget you can't leave isn't really yours.

Getting your own numbers out of a budgeting app should not be the hard part, and too often it is. Export buttons move around, they skip your splits, or they stop at the transactions the page happened to load. So we wrote a small tool that does the tedious part for you: it reads what you can already see, scrolls to the bottom so nothing is missed, opens each split to get its real parts, and hands you a clean file.

You do not have to switch to CalmDollar to use it. The files are plain CSV and they are yours, full stop. We think once your history is portable you will give CalmDollar a look, and that is the whole deal we are offering: your data first, the pitch second.

Exporting your data from EveryDollar has been a paid feature, one more thing that makes it hard to leave. We don't hold your data hostage. This tool is free, needs no account, and always will be.

Two files, and the fiddly parts handled.

Your budget, month by month

Every group and item with its planned and spent amounts, for this month or as many months back as you ask for.

Your transactions

Date, payee, amount and category for each one. The tool scrolls the whole Tracked list so nothing at the bottom gets missed.

Splits, resolved

A transaction split across categories is opened and each part is read out with its amount, so a $120 shop imports into CalmDollar as its real parts.

02 How it works

From EveryDollar to a clean CSV in about five minutes.

  1. Add EveryDollar CSV Exporter to Chrome

One click from the Chrome Web Store. It asks only for access to the EveryDollar site, nothing else.

  2. Open EveryDollar and sign in

Go to your EveryDollar budget as you normally would. The exporter opens in a panel beside it.

  3. Choose how far back to go

Just this month, or a number of months back. Leave split amounts and notes on if you want each split read out in full and your transaction notes brought along.

  4. Start the export

It works through your months and your transactions and hands you two CSV files. A year of history takes a couple of minutes.

  5. Import into CalmDollar

Open Transactions, import the CSV, pick the EveryDollar preset, and your history is in. Re-running a file never doubles it.

Already have a CSV from EveryDollar's own export? You don't need the extension. The migration guide walks through the import either way. Want the files in a spreadsheet instead? Here's how to open your EveryDollar export in Excel and sum it by category and month.

03 Your data stays yours

It reads your screen, not your bank.

  • No bank login, ever. The exporter never asks for a bank connection. It only reads the EveryDollar pages you are already signed into.
  • Nothing sent to us. The CSV is built in your browser and saved to your computer. Your budget does not pass through a CalmDollar server.
  • Least access it can ask for. The only site it can read is EveryDollar. It can't see your other tabs or your browsing history.
  • Yours to delete. Uninstall it any time and nothing of yours is left behind, because nothing of yours ever left your machine.

Questions

Is it free?

Yes. EveryDollar CSV Exporter is free to install and free to use, with no account and no limit on what you export. We built it to help people leave EveryDollar with their data, so charging for it would defeat the point.

Do I have to use CalmDollar?

No. The tool gives you plain CSV files that you can open in a spreadsheet, keep as a backup, or import anywhere that reads CSV. It works even if you never sign up for CalmDollar. The files are yours.

Can I export EveryDollar to Excel?

Yes. The exporter saves CSV files, which open in Excel, Google Sheets, and Numbers. For clean dates and amounts, bring the file in with Data, then From Text/CSV, rather than double-clicking it. Our guide to exporting EveryDollar to Excel walks through that and a pivot table that sums your spending by category and month.

Does my financial data get sent to your servers?

No. The exporter runs entirely in your browser and reads the EveryDollar pages you are already signed into. The CSV is built on your machine and downloaded to your computer. Nothing about your budget passes through us.

Will it get every transaction, including old ones?

It scrolls the Tracked list from top to bottom so the older transactions that load as you scroll are all picked up, and it can walk back as many months as you ask for. Split transactions are opened and the amount for each category is read out.

Is this an official EveryDollar tool?

No. EveryDollar CSV Exporter is made by CalmDollar and is not affiliated with EveryDollar or Ramsey Solutions. It reads your own data from your own logged-in session, the same data you can see on screen.

Which browsers does it work in?

Chrome today, and other Chromium browsers that install from the Chrome Web Store and support its side panel, such as Microsoft Edge. A Firefox build is something we will look at based on demand.
